SUNGMIN MARTIAL ARTS INSTINCT

Idol group Super Junior member, Sungmin was chosen as the one who stimulate maternal instinct of nuna fans most.

Community portal site dcinside has made a poll from July 28th to August 4th “Oojjujjujju, Idol male group member who can stimulate your maternal instinct is ?”, and Sungmin got the No.1

“Oojjujjujju” is the sound often used to calm down a child, but recently, nuna fans often used when it comes to cute idol male group members that awake their maternal instinct.

Total 20,337 people done this vote; Sungmin got No.1 with 5,841 people (28,7%). With the cute face that no one can believe that he’s 25 years old and beautiful voice, Sungmin was received love from nuna fans. Recently, he even showed his skill in entertainment field through the show MBC “Oppa band” and got the nickname “병아리” (chicken)

The #2 is SS501’s Kim HyunJoong with 4,800 people (23,6%) and #3 is Shinee’s Taemin with 2,430 people (11,9%).

The list also consist DBSG’s Micky Yoochun, SS501’s Kim HyungJoon, SJ’s Heechul…

SUNGMIN OPPA BAND FIRST SHOWCASE

On August 3rd 6.00 PM in MBC Dream Center, Oppa Band held a press conference and a showcase with 3 songs and 1 encore song which also Oppa Band’s self-composed song.

1. 송골매 (Son Golmae) – 어쩌다 마주친 그대 (How you encountered)*

2. Paul Anka – Diana’s remake to 다이(Die)하나 (read = Daihana)

3. 사랑과 평화 (Saranggwa Pyeonghwa / Love and Peace) – 한동안 뜸했었지**

4. Encore song: 알고 싶나요 (Want to know)

Oppa Band aired in MBC since 6 weeks ago and their rating is increasing. Despite the members busy schedules which caused little amount of practice time, but they have an experience performing as a band in Super Junior’s concert. So that’s why people expected this show.

The member performed on the show was Yoo Yeongsuk (keyboard), Tak Jaehoon (guitar, harmonica, conga), Shin Dongyup (bass), Hong Kyungmin (drum, saxophone), Seo Inyoung (vocal), Kim Jungmo (drum, guitar), Lee Sungmin (guitar), and Kim Gura (manager) with the old-fashion style costumes.

Performed in front of pop columnists, professional musicians and journalists, the member looked a little bit nervous when they first entered the stage. As the time passed, little by little they became more relax in their performance. Though this is the band first assessment, they still got a fair judgment.

Pop columnist, Kim Chak-ga said, “Different with other band that perform here as their first time, but for Oppa Band, it’s the opposite. Except Shin Dongyup, all of the members are musician so they have they own standard to meet. I want to ask if you’re satisfied with your own performance today.”

As the expert pointed it out in front of them, the member got a little bit surprised. But Yoo Yeongsuk said, “You can’t call this chorus yet. I will admit it’s because of we didn’t practice often so our hands didn’t get used to it.”

Shin Dongyup also said that in the future, Oppa Band would work harder to get a better recognition. The members has made a resolution by increasing practice time with the band.

But the first Oppa Band’s showcase wasn’t that bad. Of course the member still couldn’t handle the unexpected situation so well because their lack of performance-skills as a band. But you can see that they have a will to improve and keep growing, thus increased people’ expectations.

This show will be aired on August 8th 5.10 PM as the first segment of MBC Sunday Sunday Night.
