Super Junior’s leader, Lee Teuk, left a sour comment on his mini-hompy about Korea’s performing arts culture and of its audience on July 19, which is causing strife amongst netizens once again.
Leeteuk wrote in his CY column,
-ANGEL-
About people going this and that about idol culture..Saying this and that about fandom..People saying this and that about the performing culture..Please reflect on yourself, if you don’t look at yourself and you just point at others..Look at yourself in the mirror..It’s really detestable..*Apparently he wrote this in at around 6am in the morning.
His surprisingly harsh tone has got many fans and netizens alarmed and curious why Leeteuk exploded. Many are attributing his invective at the recent “Cass Tok Concert” held on July 18, while others are blaming anti-fans who left him rude and hurtful messages on his mini-hompy. But his message is more relevant to the recent “Cass Tok Concert,” where some of the audience left their seats when Super Junior was performing.
The “Cass Tok Concert” was a concert restricted to people over 20 years of age, which meant that teens, who make up the majority of SUJU’s fanbase, were no present. Therefore, most of the concert-goers were adults in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s who were mostly intoxicated from a few drinks. Many hip-hop artists were lined up to perform for this event, which makes Super Junior stand out with their teen-pop genre. But SUJU-Happy was lined up to perform last. A few jaded concert-goers decided to leave early because it was getting late; however, there was a segment of the audience who cussed out Suju Members as they left their seats, emptying the front rows. Despite the shelled-out front rows, SUJU members had to continue with their performance, and SUJU’s leader Leeteuk could not face the crowds as he performed. Acknowledging the fact that the concert was open, allowing revelers to exit freely, the members of the audience who left early are not at fault. Therefore, Leeteuk wrote his sauerkraut message, addressing the few members of the audience who left shouting obscenities at SUJU members.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
Fans had turned up at Seoul’s “Cass Tok Music Festival” on 18th July. Super Junior was the last performer for the concert. And when Lee Teuk left the stage, the fans were making quite a scene in the audience. A problem was also raised that part of the audience had left the performance during the performance intervals. In addition, the recent incident of the silence event at So Nyeo Shi Dae’s performance had point to a problematic performance culture of South Koreans.
Meanwhile, many had left encouragement messages on the guestbook on Lee Teuk’s minihompy like “Why be worried when you are happy? Just let go off whatever’s on your mind and smile”, “Lee Teuk oppa, don’t lose heart” etc.
There were also messages that goes, “Even though we did wrong during the silence event at So Nyeo Shi Dae’s performance, we did not leave the performance hall but just did not respond to the performance” and “It is not the correct conduct to leave the performance hall during the performance intervals”.

And this is comment from GAIA unnie, my friend at soompi :
I think it all adds up – what happens at public events coupled with the disrespect on cyworld, there’s just so much one can take without reacting. When he closed down his cyworld he did it because of the stickers, he announced it before the event. The message he wrote could have to do with both occurrings though – reporters are automatically linking it only to the supi performance because they can no longer see the diary section (where he kept asking to quit it with the stickers and where he wrote ‘I won’t post in the diary anymore‘). Jungsoo’s cyworld isn’t popular like Heenim’s, reporters rarely ever check it, I’m sure – his message has been up for 2-3 days, but the news came out only today. Jungsoo’s words are pretty vague, it’s not like he said “you shouldn’t leave before the concert is over“, to me it always seemed like he was referring to the harsh comments he gets on cyworld and that you can read on other anti-sites or telzone. I don’t exclude that he could’ve been talking about the concert as well, but I believe there’s still more to just that – even the E.L.F who were leaving supportive messages in his guestbook the first two days thought the same..
And this is from soompi :
And I didn’t know what Eeteuk was talking about on this Side Bar of his Cyworld. But what happened was there was a concert and Su-happy were the last performers. Despite the fact that they were performing, some people left the place. WHILE they were performing. And people (ELF’s) were all, “That was rude”, “You shouldn’t leave while someone’s performing whether or not you like them or not, cuz it’s not courteous to them”. So that might have been why.
And this is my comment :
Buhahaha, finally it turns to my comment. I only can say that, it’s not easy being popular like Leeteuk. What you do is what you say is what you hear is blaaaahhhh, it’s not easy being popular! This is not first time Leeteuk going angry to people. He often expressed his anger in Cyworld. So, yeah, ANTIS come like ants. Huff. I don’t want to say more about this. i just want to help you found out what’s happening in Super Junior World now. Sorry, if you want to share your comment here, it’s okay. But don’t bash. And don’t ask me about this.
I only know a lot about Heechul, not Eeteuk, so as Petal, i don’t want to stalk other idol
*For your info, CASS TOK MUSIC FESTIVAL is often called as MNet Music Festival.
